Forever Members of the Green Mountain Mashers

Darell “Gramps” Whitaker

Darell was a friend and mentor to many members of the Green Mountain Mashers and was always seen with a smile on his face, even when doing “Darell work” at club brew days. Over the years Darell was awarded many medals for his well-crafted beers and when he wasn’t brewing he enjoyed sailing on Lake Champlain, biking Vermont’s roadways with the Silver Spokes bike club and hiking and skiing in the forests of Vermont.

Marty Bonneau, a long-time Masher and co-owner of Goodwater Brewery, was gracious enough to donate a forever membership for Darell. This allowed the Green Mountain Mashers to make donations in memory of Darell to the ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain and to a scholarship fund for students in the Natural Resource program at the Center for Technology, Essex.
